Cinelli_Blog Revision

After getting feed back I took a different approach with my designs, some I changed completely. After making changes I feel like these designs are a lot stronger than the original designs that I posted, but can still use a little work. I say this because they are readable and aren't so all over the place and there's nothing in the background that's taking away from the text on the page. This was really a difficult task for me but I feel like I'm making progress.

  1. Elizabeth – yes, these are becoming more successful. Future things to think about: Using color to establish visual hierarchy and pull our eyes to the headings and subheading first before the body copy (it would be easy to skip over the subheadings and just read the high-contrast white body copy); Being aware, and avoiding, distortion in photos (iPad design shows really disturbingly thin people); Basing your accent colors on the photo itself as you choose neutral background and dominant foregrounds (iPad bright yellow background wants to dominate the composition); Negative shapes in your designs that could be repeated to establish rhythm (iPhone design – in my opinion your most successful layout here – needs a wider text wrap around the photo and moving the “Public Health and…” heading and list to the right to align with the quote at top would give it a more interesting alignment.
