Cinelli_iPhone Layout
Here are my iPhone layout designs. I had a little bit of difficultly with this assignment because there was not as much space in this layout. I'm so use to having a little more room to work with but I manage to make this layout kind of resemble a news article for the iPhone. I have two designs because I wanted to show the two ideas that I had the first being my initial idea for the design the second an idea that later popped into my head. I do feel the the second on is stronger, but i figured it could't hurt to share both of them. Please feel free to critique.

Elizabeth, I'm leaning more towards the first layout only because the second one kind of reminds me of the Italian flag and I don't think it matches with the theme or culture of Central Asia, so I'll critique that one. I really like the font you chose for this because it is a very sophisticated, serious looking font. However, I think it would work better if you only had it in all caps for the title, not the body because it makes it a little hard on our eyes to read all those capitals. I like that you made the size of the columns narrow, because that also helps our eyes with not having to read such long lines of text, good! The body text is a little bit too close to the edges of the text boxes so I would suggest offsetting it a bit from the box, which you can do by using the shortcut "Command + B" keys on your computer, and mess with the offsetting there. I really like that you separated the title and subhead with boxes so it gives a clear hierarchy of where each section starts. For the title however, I would try centering it in the box rather than left aligning it towards the top. Also, I'm not 100% sure what the graphic towards the bottom right is, but I think in place of that, you could put the quote next to the picture so it could balance out everything else. I also like that you have added the fade to the text boxes, it's a nice subtle touch.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, I personally like your second design, but also in my point of view, you should use de colors in the background to separate the information, meaning, that u can use the top color just for the header/tittle, the white color for the block of text, and the bottom for the image.
ReplyDeleteBut I also had hard time in this project because of all the text that we have to use in that small space.
