Hello yes I am a web student.
When I was thinking about this, I intended to use my actual iPhone as a guide, but the issue was that the template was not sized for an iPhone; the canvas is far too big, and iPhone screens are tiny. I tried to get the general gist of what I wanted to do instead of my actual vision.
I imagine this with parallax scrolling with the text box scrolling on an upper "layer" with larger, more appropriately sized text. The green is similar to the green they have on their site, and meant to stay in the background. The shadow exists for context for the text box. The logo is supposed to be transparent.

Nat, though the photo has become more of the focal point in this layout, I actually like the overall layout for an iPhone view. I could definitely picture viewing this from a phone. As you said, you are a web student, and I think it shows with your layout choice, but it goes with this theme of viewing a web page from a phone, so it works! I like that you have researched their site to reference the color theme. If anything, I think there could be a little more hierarchy in the type. Maybe make the main title a bit bigger, bolder and then tweaking the other subtitles as well, so we have a clear step-by-step hierarchy of what order you want us to read things first. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eleni about how you could push the hierarchy a little farther for this design. I like what you are aiming for, its a good looking concept. I'm not really good big fan of that black background behind the logo on the top left corner.

ReplyDeleteNat, overall i really enjoy what you decided to do with this design for an iPhone. It really gives you a sense of what a mobile website would actually look like. It's quite simple and in order, which is good. I also like what you've done with the title colors matching the background color.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with tru on the logo part, i feel as though it doesn't fit in with the rest of the design and it almost stands out too much. Maybe try taking the black background out and putting it at the bottom of the page where it might get just enough contrast from the green background.
