For this design, I was looking at long vertical flyer for inspiration. As for the color choice, I sample them off of the picture to create a unity feel. The most difficult part to this design I would have to say is the picture and the white space. I didn't know where to put the picture to create a more interesting look, and so I just place it next to the text block to balance it out. There was just so much white space left over at first that it make the design feel awkward, eventually I had it sorted out by spreading out the text element, but controlling those white space was a fun challenge to this project.
Tru, I really like the hierarchy in the type and colors you've chosen for all of them. The steps of the hierarchy are clear and tell the reader where to begin and end. I like how you enlarged the quotation marks to emphasize that it is a quote we're reading. The color choice also goes with the theme of the photo, and gives a very serious feel. I like what you have done with the bullets, but I don't think the divider ones between the 2 paragraphs are necessary. I also don't think the vertical rule on the top is very needed either, the title is strong enough to begin the page. Nice work!

I want to say that I love what you've done with the quote at the bottom most of all because the quotation marks being so big gives the quote itself this feeling of importance, almost like it wouldn't be there if there wasn't a meaning behind it. I'm not sure how i feel about the large horizontal rule above the main heading, I feel like it is almost too distracting because it's just about the same weight as the heading itself. Perhaps it would work better underneath the heading if it were a bit smaller? Just my thinking. Other than that, this layout is one of my favorite ones that you've done so far.
